Handmade Presents Are The Best Kind Of Presents - 10 Easy DIY Christmas Gifts

Image from Rustic-Crafts.com

If you are stuck for what to give a loved one for Christmas, why not consider a handmade gift! You can pop on your favourite carol (or album if xmas carolling isn't your thing), make a festive drink and get your DIY on! And I can almost guarantee (speaking from personal handmade gift giving experience) the recipient will think it is super awesome because you took the time to lovingly make something just for them. Now that is the real spirit of Christmas I think!

Here are some of my favourite ideas:

Vanilla Latte Sugar Scrub

I love finding quirky glass jars to fill with the scrub, and making heart felt labels with directions that outline creating a beautiful spa experience created at home.

Coconut Caramel Lemon Body Scrub

Another little tip when packaging these scrubs is creating an ingredients label just like you would see on a store bought one and adding cute ingredients like 'a bunch of love' or 'handful of happiness'.  I think it's the little personal touches that make the difference.

Relaxing Bath Salts

This recipe for bath salts is super versatile and you could use a variety of different oils and dried herbs to whip up a few different flavours. Orange/Lemon and Rose Petals is a great combo.

Rosemary Mint Shaving Cream

We have to have a little something for the men in our lives on the list too.  They deserve pampering as well!

Sweet Orange Lip Balm

Once you realise how easy a nice lip balm is to make, you will be keeping a few as presents to yourself.

Festive Chai Tea

I think a home made chai tea mix as a gift is pretty much as good as it can get - especially if you love chai! Gift it as loose tea with beautifully hand written instructions, and you have a very thoughtful gift.

Coconut Fudge Balls

No handmade gift list can go with out some yummy food, and Christmas is the perfect time to give and eat healthy treats.  These fudge balls are great snugly packaged in a clear glass jar, with a red bow on top.

Salted Caramel Chocolates

This is a great dairy free recipe which is very versatile with how the end products looks.  You could use traditional chocolate moulds or something a little more festive. A great gift to bring along to a family get together or Christmas Party.

Necklace Holder

This Necklace/Jewellery Holder is a little more involved but it is a very cool gift and I think any girl would love it! It would be one of those gifts you would definitely remember receiving.

DIY Terrarium

Ending the list with a little bit of green thumb action.  Terrariums are a great  DIY project as they are easy to make, are low maintenance and can be created in pretty much any glass container. This is also a great home made gift the kids can also be involved in creating.

Hope you find something interesting in this list of goodies. I am always on the look out for other natural and funky DIY gifts, so please let us know if you love making gifts, and share your ideas.

Happy DIY-ing!
